Reviewing your employees
Simply use the following forms to assess your employees’ skills and identify areas of improvement.

Consider which of the following options would be most appropriate for the individual and your organisation.

  • A self-study programme
  • An informal training course in the workplace (coaching and mentoring)
  • An informal course away from the distractions of the office
  • An accredited training course

Be aware of the barriers to learning. Most people are keen to gain new skills and improve their job prospects and personal development. Nevertheless there may be some negative feelings to overcome for the following reasons:

  • Fear of failure
  • Fear of responsibility
  • Fear of formal teaching (based on bad experience)

You might want to consider creating a corporate training plan as well as an individual training plan to ensure you stay on track.

It’s also important to set goals and objectives. When doing so, you should ensure they are:

  • Specific
  • Measurable
  • Achievable
  • Relevant
  • Time bound

You can also complete a post evaluation form to monitor the success of training.
